It's CARNIVAL time!

Last weekend we had a Paparazzi Boutique booth at the Holy Family Catholic Church for their FUN FEST.  It was a 2-day event, Friday evening and all day Saturday, with games, food, rides, vendors, live music and more.  It was a huge success!  We almost couldn't keep the Paparazzi items 'on the shelf' in our booth. 

Everyone loved it so well that we have now been asked to do the Carnival on September 10th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Haven.  This is going to be a GREAT carnival.  They have so many fun things planned.  Check out their website for the details:  http://www.stmarysutah.org/.

Tonight Monica hosted a Paparazzi Party at her home.  Her friends and co-workers came and we had a GREAT time!  There was good treats, good company and great Paparazzi items.  We had so much fun going through all the new inventory.  AND...in the end she earned 9 FREE items just for hosting a 2-hour open house.

The 3-in-1 Accessory

Hosting a Paparazzi party is so fun!  We had a great time at Shar Leatherow's house last night.  A GREAT party.  Shar has such wonderful friends...we laughed, talked and enjoyed ourselves immensly.  And her boys are seriously adorable...you young ladies watch out!

Gift Giving Made Simple

If you're like me you have many times each month when you need a gift to give someone special.  You want to give something nice, but don't want to spend a fortune.   My daughters have friend birthday parties to attend, I have friends I give gifts to for birthdays, sisters I visit and/or teach, thank you gifts, graduations, congratulations, etc.  Picking out and paying for a gift shouldn't be difficult, but sometimes it is. 

Here's a great gift idea.  If the receiver is a female why not give Paparazzi?  Every girl loves accessories.  Here's an example....today my girls went to a birthday part for a young gal in the neighborhood.  For just $14.00 we were able to give her a spectatular gift of Paparazzi.  Wrap-it-up, select a nice card, and wallah!....the perfect gift idea.

The receiver was a young youth, very modest.  So the girls picked-out a couple of modest hair clips and some sets of matching earrings.  (sorry for the grainy picture...all I had at the time was my phone camera).

If you feed them, they will come

OK, I'm going out on a limb here and showing my age.  Do you remember the movie, 'Field of Dreams?'  It was a classic when I was little.  And an almost over-used saying from that movie was/is, 'If you build it, they will come.'  There is some truth to that saying, however.

I love having others 'host' a party at their home for me.  I give them hostess benefits in the form of FREE product.  There is FREE product just for having the party and then an additional % of the sales in product.  The more people you invite to the party, the more sales, and the more FREE product you earn.  Plus, the more FUN you have.  Parites are just plain FUN.

The best piece of advice I can give a host or hostess, next to inviting as many people as you can, is to have a nice little TREAT to share.  It doesn't have to be big.  Cookies and punch are all you need.  It is true that 'If you feed them, they will come.'

If you are wanting to host a party and get a lot of your friends to come, put on the invitation that there will be snacks or goodies.  To come and get a bite to eat and visit with friends.

Here is an example of the food I had available at my last open house....

Lemonade, fruit, cheese, crackers, turkey and ham.  Chips and spinach dip, and of course...cookies. 

A host or hostess need not be this elaborate.  I like to host others and enjoy planning and throwing parties, so I did a little more than necessary.  Plus, the party was planned durring the dinner hours so I wanted to make sure people weren't shopping hungry.

And it was a big draw...while parents did their shopping and browsing the Paparazzi items, the kids grabbed a bite to eat.  It was a perfect environment.  People hung around and talked, visited, and laughed with one another.  It made for a more FUN shopping experience.  I kept the plates of food supplied throughout the night by refilling them often.  It didn't cost much..around $30 for the night and we fed more than 50 people.

No need to go to these extremes unless, like me, you enjoy doing so.  Making a batch of homemade cookies and having ice-water is great too.  No matter what kind of party you are hosting, whether Paparazzi or another type, it's a great idea to have snacks on hand for your guests.

Rule #1 for success - invite a LOT of people.

But Rule #2 - If you feed them, they will come.

What to do with all those necklaces

Back in January of this year my youngest daughter (only 6 at the time) was having a hard time keeping all her little-girl necklaces from tangling.  She didn't have a 'jewelry tree' like mine, nor was I going to spend the money to get her one. 

Solution:  we took a framed picture of her in her room and turned it into a place to hang her jewelry.  Using an 8 x 10 wooden frame I lightly hammered 1/2" golden nails into the frame, alternating them so they went up/down, making two rows (think theater seats that are aligned in between the two seats in the row in front).

It gave her room to hang her necklaces and served as a great decorative frame for a picture in her room.

It was so easy...the kinda craft you can do in less than an hour...and it turned out so cute.  It's been perfect for her for the last seven months.

I've decided to make a more upscale model for myself.  I bought a really nice 11 x 14 frame, in black wood.  I'm using slightly larger nails and will hang my Paparazzi necklaces from it.  I'm planning on hanging it on a wall in either my master bedroom closet or bathroom, depending on the picture I choose for the frame.

Easy.  Creative.  Inexpensive.  Useful. 

So that's what you do with all those necklaces you get from Paparazzi!

How cute are these?  Adorable!  Several NEW styles in the Starlet Shimmer line.  Each only $1.

New WIRE DAISY Blockbuster Earrings

Our open house on the 28th of July was a success!  Thank you to everyone who came and shared an hour with us.  Many of our favorites were sold so I have placed another order for our next party on August 11th (see details of location on right side of blog). 

Wait until you see what's in this new shipment arriving at my house this week......new Blockbuster earrings.  They have been sold out and hard to get, but I got a bunch!  Very light weight....they come in both shiny silver and gunmetal silver.  I will have both the Daisy and the Flower design.

Plus I have ordered more of the most popular styles that sold out immediately at the last open house.  They are so light weight you just have to hold a pair to understand.

Can't wait for the UPS man to arrive on Wednesday!  These Blockbuster earrings and other Blockbuster items will be available on August 11th at the next Paparazzi Boutique party.  Hope to see you there!
